About Me
Welcome to Sundance Music Studio! I am Mandy Loban-Jordan. I have been teaching for over 25 years. My teaching is student focused, developing and nurturing students’ love of music while building high artistic and technical skills. I am very experienced in understanding the individual learning needs of each student and providing a supportive environment so that students enjoy their learning experience and develop musical abilities that will last a lifetime.
I am a Registered Music Teacher (RMT) with the Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association (ARMTA) and a member of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers, a Registered Music Teacher with the Suzuki Foundation of the Americas (SSA), and a Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Certified Music Teacher in Classical Guitar, Piano, Flute, History and Theory. I have served on the Calgary Suzuki Strings Association (CSSA) board as chair & co-chair for the past eight years.
Some of my students have achieved the highest mark in the Province for their Royal Conservatory of Music grade. Over the years my students and ensembles have received gold certificates in the Calgary Performing Arts Festival (formerly Calgary Kiwanis Festival). A few of my students have gone on to be music teachers. It is a privilege to have taught so many wonderful families.
One of my passions is working with ensembles. I am director of the Classical Guitar Society of Calgary (CGSC) Orchestra and have arranged and composed many pieces for guitar ensembles and also classical guitar orchestra some of which have been featured at the International String Gala held at the Bella concert hall. I also enjoy playing and performing in the YYC Classical Guitar Quartet.
